ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    160hp less than 1k

Hey everyone just looking for information on how to get power from my baby she's a 92 accord ex was an automatic the previous owner took the f22a6 and auto tranny and put in a f22a1 with a stick but it's not fast enough for me it has a spectre r Cai and apexi full headers to tip. It's got skunk 2 coilovers that I got lowered halfway. But I need more power I beat a 03 accord v6 stick and a 08 accord v6 auto and I almost won against a 2010 camaro but he had me after I hit 3rd and I was to low rpms to try to keep up any info would help I appreciate it. I have $1000 now I am working now but I need to increase the power and et now I am running at least 16.5s my friends Mac spirit runs 17s and I beat him I just haven't took her to the track I also raid junkyard every weekend just need to know how tos and what I need.

First off, replace those coilovers. They are junk. And if you're lowered on stock shocks, it is incredibly dangerous. You shouldn't be driving it like that, let alone racing!

If you want more power from your F22A1, look in the thread stuck at the top of this section marked "READ HERE FIRST". In there, you will see a thread showing you a nice list of inexpensive upgrades to gain nearly 30hp from an F22A1.

Also, you might want to replace that junk Spectre filter with something better, such as AEM, K&N, or Apexi. The pipe is fine, but the filter is crap. It's letting far too much dirt into your engine, which will cost you power soon... and cost you your engine in time.

You beat an 03 V6-6 with a stock CB??? Right.

Anyway there are many ways to increase output from an engine swap, full rebuild, all the way to a dsm boost setup. I don't know how fast you want to go but for 1k the most reliable would be an f23 swap with f22a head and can easily be found in the JY

If he's looking for 160hp, no swap should be necessary. Chances of that hybrid being reliable for under $1000 (or at all, given my first impression here...) are quite slim.

Consider swapping your transmission for one from an H22A1 or H23A1 (Prelude Si VTEC and Prelude Si respectively). You won't gain any power, but you'll make better use of your available power. The shorter gearing of those transmissions will make you quicker (at the expense of top speed and fuel economy.)

I'm a fan of static springs and quality shocks myself (H&R springs and Koni Yellow shocks), but if you MUST have adjustable coilovers, you can't go wrong with Ground Control and Koni Yellows. If you want a full 1-piece coilover setup, Function and Form Autolife (frequently referred to as F&F) makes some decent stuff that's pretty cheap. Most other cheap full coilovers made for our cars are absolute garbage (D2, Omnipower, Truhart, Raceland, Blackworks...) People will argue this, because "I gotz em an dere gud!"... but I've done my research. I wouldn't say so otherwise. Higher quality (and higher priced) coilovers can be had from BC, Tein, and H&R (I believe their kit is still in production, anyway...)

Ok, I thought the driver was at least decent. Good kill.

I was planning ahead as he will have room to grow. The native F23 hasn't been explored here either if you wanted to keep the motor non-hybrid.

I would do and currently have a koni yellow with Ground control setup. It's pretty pricey if you can't find good deals but worth it.

The F22A6 was rated for 140 from the factory, so the previous owner "downgraded" by swapping in the A1. Go back and get the cam, manifold and ECU from the a6.

I'm out. If you're unable to find that post at the top of this very section, I can't imagine how frustrating this is going to get. Good luck!

I'll be nice, I know where Deev is coming from thoughi

Interchangeable parts? As in no mods necessary? Nothing.

If you're willing to do modification, everything is...just depends on how much work you want to do.

EDIT: Why swap the entire motor? Aren't you trying to save money? Keep your current set up and throw in the parts listed.

a6 frank with what? The F23? Don't do that unless you have time to tune and diag.

The F22A1 and F22A6 are identical except for the camshaft, valve springs, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and ECU. No need to buy a complete engine.

So could I just take the head off the a6 and the intake and ecu and it will all bolt straight up?

Straight up. But then you've got to wire in the IABS and add another pin to the ECU harness.

You don't even need the entire head. You need the parts I listed above. Actually, you don't even need the valve springs. They're recommended, but many people have used the A6 camshaft with A1 springs with no problems over the years.
