Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    f22 intermittent start with and without check engine light

    So I've had some intermittent issues with either running or starting. It used to stall out during certain parts of the day. New 02 sensor and dizzy replaced recently. New fuel filter and I just checked my code right now. I'm getting 8 and 15. Which are TDC sensor and ignition output signal. This has been driving me nuts. Could it be a bad ignition switch at this point? I know the TDC sensor is in the dizzy on my car so I'm gonna say that's out.

    What brand distributor did you use and did it come with the coil and ignitor or what?

    When the distributor was replaced was the igntion timing reset and was the service connector jumped when doing so?

    Have you checked the the electrical connectors on the distributor for solid connections?

    With codes 8 and 15 together I would guess you may have bought a poor quality remanufactured distributor.

    8 is the ignitor and 15 is the TDC sensor which is built into the distributor and can only be replaced by replacing the distributor.

      It is a reman unit. At this point nothing suprised me. Good thing it's under warranty. Just got it about a month ago. I also throw it in the parts store parking lot. Didn't know I needed to reset the ignition timing. Put it center in the slots. Also going to have a look at the wiring as well. So I need to jump the service connector when swapping this out. How do I reset all of this?

        If you do not have an idle issue and it idles at the correct RPM (700-800 when fully warm) then all you need is a timing light. You jump the service connector while you set the ignition timing. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=146242

        With a remanufactured unit sometimes the center of the slots is not even close and other times it may be.

        You may try setting the ignition timing properly and see what that does. Although I don't think that's the issue it may be worth a shot.

          So I did a reset of the ecu. Don't have a timing light nor do I have the money to even rent one. But the issue went away for a bit. Not it may be coming back. Will see if a buddy has one

            So a quick follow up. I ended up swapping the starter and have found since doing that with another ecu reset my issue seems to have gone away. Fires right up. Sounds like a combination of things.
