ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Indeed. F22A gears are VERY long, especially for an engine with such a high, narrow powerband.
"Hard" is subjective. For someone with experience, it's not hard. For someone that finds it difficult to search the internet for well-documented information, it'll likely be very difficult.
What ECU do you plan on using?

youll need a chipped ecu also since its an OBD2 engine. dont use a p13 or other variant itll run,(after obd conversion) but not properly. physically itll be just like any other h swap.
I might put one in my cd5 but the obd2 ecu complications (auto, tcu is combined in one unit) is kinda holding me back. maybe when i have a 3rd car to swap the cd out with while its pieced together.
it can be done just dont expect it to be quick or straight up like an obd1 H swap

like everyone else is saying, the long gears will hinder getting the most out of the F20b. It will fall out of vtec between shifts. So start saving for a better suited transmisison. In the meantime, the f22 trans will function and get the car down the road. A couple cliff notes on the swap: The drivers side post mount that bolts to the block needs to be swapped out with an f22a or h22 piece. If you're using the f20b alternator, you'll need a plug adapter or modify your harness to use the new style plug. Or you can swap your existing f22a alternator/bracket and crank pulley onto the f20b. If you are going to use the f20b intake manifold, you will need a 3-wire to 2-wire iacv adapter. Or you can just use an h22 upper plenum which already has a 2 wire iacv. For ecu, phearable can put an f20b map on a p06 or p28 ecu.

In my opinion, the H22A is the best swap option available to us.

I can't understand what you're trying to say. Please try to type like an adult. You're asking other experienced adults for advice. At least show them the courtesy of typing coherently.Originally posted by dinks07 View PostOk thaks i did read that was just onna tr and be different feel like a h22is in everything but i do want a nice easy process plan on doing paint iterior etc just want a clean fun car havea new explorer and sport trac this is ust for fun
As for being "different", the F20B looks EXACTLY the same under the hood. Nobody will know what it is unless you tell them, and it's really not all that uncommon anymore anyway (I've talked to literally DOZENS of people doing the exact same thing just to be "different".) The engine is there to move your car. Why do something that is more difficult, and potentially more costly, just to have an engine that makes less power overall?
That's like getting a super-detailed tattoo on your taint.

OK thanks for all your input. I will be going with the H22 being that there is more information and alot of aftermarket support for it.Originally posted by deevergote View PostI can't understand what you're trying to say.
