ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

How does one Center a offset ebrake?

Has anyone converted there offset ebrake to center for a armrest, I'd like to talk to some people about it that have done it. I've read the diy's but I have a few questions
Do I need to cut a hole? And why?
Do I need to drill holes to move the ebrake or are those the other holes provided?
And does the brakes length to the brakes to the back get effected at all?
I also have a whole 91 coupe parts car that I can get the ebrake from if I needed to.

Also a off topic question, are coupe and sedan exhausts the same?

I know coupe and sedan exhausts are the same but I'm not following you on the brakes. Never even noticed there was a difference between the two.

some plants manufactured car bodies that included mounting holes for both locations. Pull the console cover off and take a look to see if you are lucky enough.

Otherwise, you woulld need to drill 2 mounting holes, and either add nuts from below (above the exhaust heat shield) or use nut-sert threaded inserts.

And yes the coupe and sedan exhausts (and ebrake cables, and the brakes and suspension) are interchangeable.

Yep...I have to add nuts from below the vehicle for my center e-brake. Going from a 92 ex console to a 91 se.

Looking into this as well for my 93 Coupe SE. Missing the armrest the CL seat is lacking.

Ok so will I have to cut a hole in my floor for the ebrake handle it's self? I just installed prelude seats and have a 91 phieonx red Lx coupe I think they call it in the states so has black trim. And I picked up a armrest from a scrap car I'm very close to havin my interior complete.

Nope, the handle doesn't require a major hole, just the 2 holes for the mounting bolts. The cables then run through a separate hole in the floor, further back, which did not change regardless of the position of the handle itself. You can probably use the 91 parts car as a reference, to measure exactly where the mounting holes should go.

No. P5ylance in his DIY only cut a hole so he could place a nut under the other hole to hold the backet. But like previously mentioned, using a nutsert would make this a cleaner install.

Sweet, I believe I already have the holes from factory so it should just be the fun of moving it, I have it all ripped apart on both cars right now, just didn't want to go cutting if I didn't have too.

And thanks in advance for the help so far I'll post pics when complete

I totally understand this. Thats why I found a center console arm rest to remedy the problem.
