ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

prelude vti rear brakes into CB?

    Hello. Without unecessary talking:

I've got 92 Accord EX. It has rear disc brakes. Im going to do 5x114.3 swap (Prelude Vgen VTI front knuckles with hubs and bearings, and prelude Vgen VTI 4ws rear hubs and bearings on accord knuckles)

The point is: is it possible to swap rear calipers into accord from prelude Vgen VTI 4WS? what i've seen, calipers looks almost the same, the difference is that handbrake cable is differently routed... In accord handbrake cord is above the hubs and others, in prelude this cord is below hubs. Other thing, in lude calipers are on the center side (in "front" of car), in acco - near rear bumper.

Is it possible to work? how can I secure handbrake cord of tearing off?

If you can use the whole rear hub, I don't imagine mounting the Prelude brakes with the caliper in front will be an issue.

As for the emergency brake cable, do you have the Prelude cable? I'm not positive, as I've never attempted a Prelude brake conversion, but I'd think the Prelude cables would work properly on the Accord with the Prelude brakes.

In case you are not aware, you won't need them to perform the conversion. You can reuse your Accord rear caliper and e-brake as it is as long as the appropriate rotor is used.

That would be a rear rotor from a:

      '97-'01 Integra Type R
      '02-'06 RSX

yea, the thing is my friend is in emergency and he need OEM acco IV calipers. And I have also prelude VTI calipers and I'm thinking about installing them on my own acco in the future if it's possible

about a cable - prelude and acco cables look the same, the mounts are twin-looking, so am I thinking right that even accord cables should work properly? I think preludes cables could be too short for sedan IVg...

the "caliper mounts" (sorry, i don't know how to name it :P in Poland we call it "jarzmo" :P ) are the same in prelude and acco, so caliper fit pnp to accord knuckle

        Jarrett,:

        '98-'02 Accord V6
        '97-'01 Integra Type R
        '02-'06 RSX

These rotors fit prelude hub, yes? afaik, for itr rotors there's a need of grinding prelude hub, acco V6 rotors should fit without any work on?

The Accord V6 and Integra Type R rear rotors are the exact same, so I don't know why that would be.

yes, but my friend swapped preldue bearings and hubs to accord and he used ITR rotors. Prelude hub diameter is a little bit larger than itr rotor and it need some grinding.

But, my question was about e-brake. Now I thing I know what to do tommorow I'll try fitting this calipers to accordeon

            I hope it will work
