ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    H22a Code 12

I recently prepped the motor for the ref smog test. The car passed emission and function but failed the visual because I was not running the Prelude EGR vacuum lines and solenoids. The accord vacuum lines and solenoids worked fine but were not the appropriate ones. I swapped over the H22a egr vacuum system and solenoids and the ECU threw code 12. I replaced the EGR valve and still same issue. I swapped back the accord egr system and still no solution. I decided to pull the egr ports and clean then out. Ran the car this morning and the code 12 popped back up. All the vacuum lines are set up correctly, the wiring to the purge and egr solenoid are done correctly as well. Im stumped on what the problem is. Any help is highly appreciated.

Test the wiring to make sure it's not damaged, and consider replacing the valve again. It's not uncommon for parts to be faulty right out of the box. Especially since these cars are getting older, and true OEM quality parts aren't necessarily available.

I've also seen the EGR lift sensor (the electrical part that is usually in the 'black box') cause the code 12.

On a side note, why did the ref require that you change the parts? I have the Accord EGR parts on my swap and the referee just asked me to open the black to make sure the parts were there.'

Accords are for winners. And Grandmothers. But mostly winners.

The accord egr system worked perfectly fine. The ref was going off the prelude egr vacuum diagram. I told him that the same components were located inside the black box but he insisted that they were to be placed on the engine bay the same way as if it was the prelude enigine bay. He wanted the purge valve behind the intake manifold and the egr assy. solenoid nest to the right mount. Exactly how the prelude is set up. I got the prelude egr system from the junkyard so I have a feeling that the solenoid might be bad. I am going to switch the accord egr solenoid and see what it does. I tested the egr valve lift today and it works fine. Pulled vacuum directly of the valve lift hose and it shut the engine off.

I looked up the prices for new sensors but they are out of range for what i want to spend on them. Im going to try another junkyard but these prelude models are hard to come by at the yard, hardly see any of them.
