ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    code 7 reading

ive been a fan of this forum page since before the acquirement of my 1991 honda accord EX. ive owned the car for roughly 8 years now, and since ownership, i have loved it even more. Ive also managed to purchase 2 others, one being a 92 ex with a F22A6 and most recently a 1990 LX with a F22A4. Ive done my best to keep my 91 as original as possible, until i decided the exhaust had to be replaced. Heres where my question comes in. shortly after the installation of my full exhaust, ive been dealing with a code 7. ive replaced the TPS but it has yet to do anything. when i go to accelerate, it tries to choke out and begins sputtering hard. i thought in the beginning it was my intake forcing too much air, but i removed that and the problem persists, pretty much making my car, which i love as much as a child, an overpriced parking spot holder. Any help at this point would be grateful, because im on the brink of parting ways with my f22a4 child

Did you properly calibrate the new TPS when you installed it? If not, you'll need to do that. Also, did you reset the ECU to clear the code afterward?

Another possibility is the o2 sensor. I experienced a similar choking/sputtering effect with a failing o2 sensor, and it didn't throw an error code right away. When it did, it was code 43 (fuel supply system... oddly, it's an o2 sensor code 90% of the time.)

If you haven't calibrated the TPS and reset the ECU, do those things now. If you did those things, try swapping out the o2 sensor for a brand new Denso or NTK unit for your specific year and trim level (the wire lengths and plugs vary, so be sure to get the right one!)

Here is an excellent write up that I've used many times about calibrating the TPS. I really need to do it to my car again, ive done it to alot of friends cars with good results.
