ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Changing F22A1 Head with F22B1

    Hello guys,

I need to change my F22a1 head from my 92 CB7.
First, I would like to know if I can install the f22b1 Vtec head in my f22a1 engine block, if yes, the dimensions of the intake manifold of the f22a1 fits in the F22b1 head?

    Regards,

    Felipe

Yes, you can. The F22B1 head is a bit of a downgrade, however... and it will require the use of a different ECU, and the addition of a number of wires.

Do you recommend some other VTEC head instead of f22b1 that fits in my f22a1 ?

No. The F22B1 is inferior to the F22A. If you want VTEC, go DOHC, and swap an entire engine. DOHC VTEC head swaps almost always result in a blown engine.

I see, here in Brazil it's hard to find a DOHC engines for accords, most is F22A, one option is the H22 from prelude.

H22A is pretty much the best thing you can get. That is (and was) my choice.

As someone who went from a F22B1 to a F22A head, the swap is a lot harder than it seems. Yes, the head bolts to the block, but beyond the obvious of having to swap the intake and exhaust manifolds, neither the alternator or the power steering pump will bolt up (and if you install the power steering from the F22B1 you will need to have a custom high-pressure hose fabricated), the water tube running behind the engine is different, the upper timing cover is different (neither the F22A or the F22B1 will bolt up - I had to fabricate one), you need the timing belt for a F22B1, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff.
