ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I was reading on ecomodder.com that most fuel economy comes from controlling the right foot...then aerodynamics(sealing up cracks and crevices with tape that cause drag.) And weight reduction...assuming car is properly maintained. On my 2012 civic si I have I/Dp/e and a flashpro custom tune which gave me a couple mpg's if I stay off the throttle. Not really cost effective but it's something. I want to do a test with my cb and get a cai and hondata s300 with a tune. Vitviper tuned my si and according to him most stock car tunes are junk. The si completely changes even stock with a good tune, but the cb may be different.

The PT3 and PT6 ECUs are supposedly tuned pretty well in terms of power and fuel economy. Not a whole lot to gain from a custom tune, from what I've heard. I didn't really dig into my own CB7 until after I had an H22 under the hood, so I have no personal experience, however. The H22's P13 ECU is tuned to run REALLY rich, and the VTEC engagement point is set about 500 RPM too high (so you get a nice kick... sold a lot of Preludes that way.) A retune for an H22A can get you a good 3-5 mpg, I noticed.

With a larger intake and exhaust, I'd expect a tune to help a bit, though. The stock ECU compensates for greater airflow by sending more fuel, so a custom tune may be able to dial that back a bit. Gains in power and MPG should be evident... though probably not terribly significant.

Good to know. I guess lowering rotating mass would be a good first step along with better driving habits. I think I read 15in spoon sW888 weigh 8.5 lbs. Or go crazy and get some wedsport carbon fiber wheels haha.
