ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Rear shock mount bushing... seized. Fml

So I'm have the infamous rear bushing for the shock problem. I bought new aftermarket bushings and they dont have the metal out sleeve. Does that mean I can leave my sleeve in or??

Are you sure you got the right part? I've never seen one without the sleeve. Good luck getting the old rubber out and the new rubber into the old metal sleeve... and then having the bushing remain effective.

I'd suggest chucking whatever you have and buying a bushing with the sleeve, like this (this is a Moog part... I don't love Moog, but I installed one of these myself and it went fairly smoothly.)

Urethane bushings often do not have metal sleeves and yes you need to take your old sleeve out.

Ah yes, forgot about those. If that's what you have, then yes, I suppose reusing the sleeve is your only option. If it's just a cheap rubber bushing, I wouldn't bother. Buy a quality complete unit for ease of installation and reliability.

If it is urethane you would remove your old sleeve and discard. The bushing should be sized to fit without a sleeve.

Use lithium grease to avoid it sounding like a whoopee cushion when the suspension travels. No worries deeve. That's why we have a bunch of people helping, luckily for everyone here mostly not me.

I had put the front suspension on and I was in a rush to get the rears on since the front looked way too dumped so I got these. I've returned them since they were import direct from o'reillys at $25 a pop when OEM are $15 a pop. They weren't poly by the way just rubber.
