ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Is my motor mount the factory original? '91 LX AT

I'm looking to replace my motor mounts as it appears they've seen better days. The driver's side already showed up and I went to mount it, but it appears the left side hole is not big enough to accommodate the stud that goes through it due to the shoulder on the stud.

For the mount already on my car, the hole on the left is a little larger to accomodate this shoulder, whereas the replacement's holes are identical size. Was the mount on my car possibly modified to fit incorrectly, or is it possible the new mount I got is incorrectly made?

The new part in question is MRC part #A6512.

That mount in question is notorious for not fitting correctly.

I'll post some more info in a few when I get a chance.

Ok now that I'm at an actual computer with a keyboard.

The forward stud hole is too small and has to be drilled out to approximately 1/2" for the stud to fit. Nothing is wrong, per se, it's just that mount comes from the factory WRONG.

I got stuck in other areas, so I circled back to this earlier. The biggest drill bit I have is 1/2", and that slides through the aftermarket mount just fine. I'm willing to bet a 9/16 or 5/8 bit would be perfect. I'm going to take out the mount anyway, so I'll just mic it and see what I need.

Has anyone else reported any failures of aftermarket mounts that have been drilled out to fit correctly? The sticker on the box says "Made in CN", which I'm going to assume is China.

CN is another way or saying China.

The actual size needed is .56", so yes 9/16" would be perfect.
          Not sure about failures though.
