ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Confused with Exhaust...

    Hello...

You guys made a section on CB7tuner.com just for me Thanks!

    Anyways...Heres the deal.

I have a 91 Accord (4 dr but I dont think it matters) and I just ordered my H22 . I want to order an exhaust...

Which car do I order the exhasut for?!

The Accord that I have or a Prelude (H22) ?

    Love the new section,
    -Lam

You would order it for the accord. Anything that is not directly attatched to the h22 will be for an accord.

What exhausts are you looking at?

Most exhausts made to fit an Accord are fairly narrow for peak H22 performance. If you're spending the money, I would suggest that you do it right the first time around!

My recommendation is some 2.5" mandrel bent piping from www.kteller.com made to fit the Accord. Then get something like an Apexi World Sport axleback muffler to bolt onto it (in 2.5" diameter). 2.5" is the ideal pipng diameter for the H22, and mandrel bends are the best. Most Accord systems you can get are about 2.33" (like the Apexi WS full catback system) Those systems aren't bad, and you won't really notice the difference... but if you're going to spend the money, why not get the best?

So when I go to order an Exhaust, buy one for the Accord and it will bolt right up to the H22? Im just looking for a cat back....They are freakin expensive. I spent most of my money on the motor alredy so I dont have much to play with.

What do you think I should go with? Whats the most bang for my buck?

        Thanks,
        -Lam

You could get an ebay muffler for $40, grab a "performance" cat for about the same, and hit up a muffler shop... have them weld some cheapie piping together. That's your cheapest route. Other than that, you'll have to settle for a small-diameter Accord setup... or take my advice above.

Very good stuff here. I had a kteller catback on my 4 door and it was very very good exhaust. Very inexpensive as well.

Actually, we're not. We just have good crush bends. The diameter changes slightly, but there are no sharp bends or crinkle bends. Mandrel bends are impressive to look at

I'd go for a good custom exhaust, find a local shop with a good rep. Maybe you could find a similar setup to listen to before you spend the$. I'd feel pretty stupid paying $500.00 for an Apexi axle-back and then decide it's too loud.

If you go with the World Sport, it won't be too loud Those things sound like stock until you get on it!

Most muffler shops don't do mandrel bends. If you can find one that can, and will do a custom system for you for less than a premade setup, then that's great!

Of course, aside from my recommendations... I'm running a custom mufflershop special right now... I paid $450 for a new 2.5" cat, 2.5" crush bent piping, and a nice dual tip muffler. Kinda loud, but not bad. It has a nice even tone. 2.5" is of course for my H22. My friend (93twodoorLX) has the exact same setup in 2.25" for his F22 (and he ran a respectable 15.8 at the track)

From what Iv'e been reading, you need a Prelude header and you use an Accord C/B system. It should all bolt right up. I vote for a DC header and Magnaflow C/B.

DC header doesn't really do much over the stock JDM piece... You'd gain more power with a good tune-up. The CB exhaust works, but it's rather narrow. You don't really gain anything up high, where the H22 shines. A custom 2.5" setup would be much more beneficial.

But in theory... yes. Prelude header, Accord shaped exhaust.

Check out the RS*R Exmag with a DC header

I've got a RS*R Exmag for my F20A and it is more subtle in terms of sound when compared with my friend's World Sport on his H22. The system runs thick guage stainless steel 2.75" piping all the way. Probably good for your H22 rev-happy application. A very good product but pri$y. Check it out.
