ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Depending on your temperature ranges is what you should do. It should be recommended what to use in your user manual. I use 10w30 down here in texas.

Forget the oil, just empty out a shitload of chapstick tubes, squeeze it all together, fill up your oil pan, and stick it back on the block. Lasts for at least 40k miles.

my car has 206,500 and I recommend 10w 40 because one of my friends worked for honda and i asked him what engine oil i should use and he said to use the 10w 40 because that oil is good for the engine right now and im glad he told me that because before i use to put 20w 50 and the only reason i put that was because the guys in auto zone were telling me to put it ( last time i listen to them )but when i found out that it was to thick i was glad that i found out soon because who knows what could of happened.

Oh i have a question every how many miles should you change your transmission fluid? just to let you know i dont have the Honda Manuel i dunno what happened to it

I used 10w-30 year-round for five years in my old prelude (had it till 175,xxx miles), worked great except when it was getting near or below zero, but it still started.

I'm planning on using 5w-30 during winter in the accord from now on, to help with starting and better lubrication during warm-up.

5w-30 year-round would be good, and is usually what is recommended for most conditions. I suppose straight 30 or something would be better for racing though.

I'm farther even south than Dallas (Laredo) and I also use 10-30, but I add a quart of Lucas. It's "supposed" to run smoother!

I dont like to use additives with my oil. Supposedly they are suppose to thicken the oil or something like that. And Texas weather is just hot whenever the summer hits.
