I have over 300k on my engine, and it still runs great. I'v heard alot about rebuilding it, but I'm not realy sure what that means. Is that some thing I can do myself. Will it give me more power or make my engine last longer?(Yeah i know its probably a dumn question.)

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

First of all, welcome to CB7Tuner.com!
Second, no, the average rebuild will not give you more power, but it will last longer. A rebuild is basically the process of replacing all the parts inside the engine.
I believe what you're thinking about gaining power is when a motor is "built." That's when there's performance modifications done like boring the cylinders, etc. I'm fairly new to engine internals so I'll let the veterans finish up for me.

Basically what I said... haha. We're talking about "power increase" as in more power than stock when the car was new.Originally posted by ACC0RD22actually, a rebuild might give you a slight increase in power, but thats not power like adding an intake would be, its more like power thats been over the years lost to wear and tear. Im not saying it would be a substantial amount, but it would be there . . .

Sounds great, but i can't realy aford it."You can put in a simple bolt-in swap with under 50,000 miles for less than the cost of a rebuild. The F22B DOHC makes 160hp, costs about $850, and drops right in. No point in rebuilding an F22A (stock motor) unless you're going to make it stronger (usually for a turbo setup)."
So basicly the answer is its not realy a great idea to rebuild my stock engine?

Basically, if you engine is still running great, there's no point in rebuilding it unless it's for more power like boost as Deevergot suggested. But if you can't afford a rebuild or a new engine right now, then I'd advise you to hold off and wait until you can, then do as you please.Originally posted by Green_92_EXSounds great, but i can't realy aford it.
