ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Window problem!

My car has power windows and the driver one has problems going up and down. It will start moving then slow down and stop, and if I wait a while it will go some more but stop again. The window had a slite problem when I got it, but it has gotten worse and now it hardly moves. Somebody told me that my motors are getting hot and have to cool down thats why it stops .
But I 'm not sure whats going on. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

P.S. Oh and now my front passenger side is starting to do it. Please help!!!

My passenger side window does the exact same thing. It only does this when the weather is cold though. Not sure what it could be... someone must know lol

The motors could just be wearing out. Considering that you car is 14 years old they had a pretty good run. Just go to the junkyard and try and find some decent looking ones. should be pretty cheap

Try greasing up your railing where the window goes up and down thats what my friend recommended me do. I got a new motor and it does the same thing only when going down and when it goes up doesnt align right. Gotta readjust the regulator but im prob gonna try the grease thing sometime later since texas weather is warming up it isnt givin that much trouble right now.

Motor needs replacement. The driver side motor is the one used the most and will go out first. Autozone sells the motor and regulator for about $100.
Get the parts and take it to a auto electric place unless you want to try yourself. Make sure the door panel does not get damaged while removing it.

I was forced to replace mine because it would not pass inspection.

              no.....try this first,
for all the people with slow windows, spray silicone spray in the run channels. all the way around the perimeter of the window, like this:

              later.

you don't spay the window, you spray the lube in the run channel. later.

first thing u should do is get some clear silicone spray, i got mine from honda for free its what they use on stuck windows, spray the channel , move window up and down if no luck get a new motor and regulator, plz dont buy it from the junkyard b/c ur just buyin the same thing a 14yr motor and its more then likely bout to die

When I installed some Ventvisors on my Maxima a while back, I had the same exact problem. The motor and regulator were fine but the window had trouble closing all the way and it would always leave about 1/2 inch of gap.

A little spray of silicone spray on the window channels solved the problem permanently and now I roll up the windows much faster.
