ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

header is just a header , it doesn't matter if its a DC Sports header or a Meagen header all your paying for is the name brand IMO.

I bought my old header of ebay for around 100 bucks (80 + 20 for shipping) ran alot better gain a little more power and thats it.

Megan racing collectors are of an inferior design. But it is possible to get them with a 2.5" collector which would probably offset any losses in the collector. Also, since they are pretty cheap, an option worth considering would be to get a Megan Racing header and then have a local exhaust shop replace the crappy stock collector with a Burns Stainless collector. That should handily outperform DC Sports and still be cheaper to boot.

All header designs are NOT created equal. There are some headers that would knock your socks off with small block Chevy type power increases, but they aren't cheap.

i've heard of megan racing headers cracking after you've put some mileage on them... i dont trust them. they are the root of some squrewy stories and i dont like parts that i hear bad things about... you get what you pay for IMO. i'd save up a little more money and get something more sturdy (i have a DC) that has a better reputation, unless you like dealing with warrenties that usually dont cover things that happen to them. i would also not ebay it. i'd go to oriely's or an online site that will sell them new. i dont trust ebay anymore after some of the shit i've gotten off it (although it wasnt for my car, it broke shortly after i got it or it never worked)

              -my 2 cents.

UMMM... Have you ever read reviews on DC Sports headers? There are a lot of people with these too, that have had severe problems. I have not encountered any first hand though. I have had mine on for 4-5 years now and 100K miles or so.

If you bolt them up before the flex pipe, it will probably break. However, I've witnessed Megan's customer support and they will send you a replacement after you send them pictures of your broken header. They even say not to use it...makes me wonder why they even put it on there

What do you mean by "before the flex pipe"?

I bought an entire megan exhaust system and was HORRIBLY disappointed by it all. The first header I got cracked before the flex pipe, and the replacement header didn't even bolt on properly (the top flange was welded on at the wrong angle!). The rest of the exhaust didn't even meet up properly in any spot and all of it had to be bent. The walls of the exhaust are quite thin, and I've had major discoloration all over (which is just cosmetic, but still not very desireable).

On top of it, I got thrown around by their customer service when trying to get an answer to my problems. I would recommend to everyone to stay away from any megan racing product (at least exhaust). Granted, my experience may be one exception, but that's just my account.

Ive had my megan installed for about 10k, no problems to report so far, and for 100 bucks what a deal.

I don't have MR headers but I do have MR catback exhaust and I haven't had any problems with it thus far and its been bolted on for many months now. When it comes to performance and reliability "you get what you pay for" is usually true but there are a couple exceptions. Megan isnt at the bottom of the rung for performance products but they just aren't as reputable as DC in terms of headers.

                              ...adjust accordingly
