Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

installing rear upper strut bar

Id need to see pictures. It could be both. The one for under your car should be alot smaller then a strut bar for your engine bay/ inside the car in the rear. and example is here:
This is a Strut bar for the suspension in the back:
If it looks like this its NOT for under the car

And this is a lower strut tie bar. Useless on our cars.

it does look similar to the one in the picture.....the rear upper bar that i have has similar mounting brackets to the ones that goes under the hood...(i wish i had pictures but i dont)...the only difference is the the rear upper bar has two holes on the bracket whereas the front upper has three...Last edited by strongpants; 04-13-2006, 10:09 AM.

Lower rear tie bars are useless on Maple's car, but everyone else with a CB7 should notice an improvement.
I know I did...

I don't have a pic of the rear upper, but I can get one if you need it

They don't do anything on our car's I dont have one. It's for looks. I couldnt find the exact reason why but I think on civic hatches they improve handling.
Yeah If anyone knows about that post post it up!

our cars have a small crossmember between those two points, so tying them together doesnt do much more than what the stock crossmember does. on civics/tegs, each mount point is independantly mounted so tying them together actually does something...

for those of you who dont know where it goes, fold down your rear seat and you can see the tops of the strut towers on either side. youll need to cut holes in the trunk paneling for the bar to pass through, and it should cross right behind the rear seat.

theres a pics
this is what u need to do
first lower ur back seats
then take off the two place covers
then u can see the strut tower undo the three nuts
now u have to cut a hole on each side tho the carpet wall stuff so the bar can past thought
disconnect the bar from the mounting legs and place the mounting legs on the screws off the shocks the put the nuts on, the screw the bar back on, tighting up ur do
