ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

I phoned my local dealer two days ago for just that question.

Timing Belt + Water Pump Job = $700

Canadian $, BUT STILL OUT-EXPLETIVE RHYMING WITH CLUCKING-RAGEOUS.
Are you guys serious about the $350 timing belt job??!?! I'm gonna phone some more dealers in the mean-time...hmmmm

Timing belt and water pump is always an expensive job... $130 for parts from Majestic Honda, which means $200 or more when you get it all from a shop (they make their profit, and often don't have cheap sources... Majestic Honda beats most prices around) Labor is fairly extensive, at least in terms of having to pay for it! The timing belt and water pump are VERY important parts, so if you're not confident doing it yourself, it's worth the expense to have a professional do it.

Be sure to inspect your motor thoroughly... check the head and the block for damage. What broke on you? If the timing belt went, then you could be looking at damaged valves and possibly pistons. If your water pump blew, you could have a cracked block. Don't spend a ton of money on replacing parts only to find that your motor is badly damaged! Inspect it carefully first. You're better off buying a replacement motor if there is damage done...

Ok theyre going to charge me 450 for the new timming belt, water pump, alternator, head gaskets, and cutting the rottors, i think thats a pretty good deal, the only thing is that im BROKE but since its my friends shop I dont have to pay him right away, im doing all these things now because ill forget to do it later. and then boom im left on the street. witch is pretty embarassing here in NYC.

i say if you can do it yourself than you should do it
if you can't change the timing belt and water pump than
you should get a auto mechanic you can trust

i am getting my timing belt, water pump and rear motor mount
changed for about 150-175 or so it is way cheaper than the dealer

and have you guys tried this website http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/
it is a little bit cheaper than Majestic honda

At Honda dealers around here I believe they charge $600-700 for a timing belt package, similar price range to a clutch job.

If you're going to do it yourself here is an OEM website:

                        www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

Get the following for a complete timing belt package job for typical 90-93 Accords:

                        - water pump
                        - timing belt
                        - balancer shaft belt
                        - front balancer shaft seal
                        - front balancer shaft seal retainer
                        - front crank seal
                        - front cam seal
                        - new timing belt tensioner, if original does not turn freely
                        - new tensioner springs, if original in bad shape

While you there, if you want you can:

                        - install new lower spark plug tube O-rings
                        - install new valve cover gasket kit
                        - install new distributor O-ring
