ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

While it's running pop your hood and spray some carb cleaner at the intake manifold. You might have a vacuum leak that would require you to change a gasket or two. Also, adjust the idle speed screw on top of the throttle body to make sure you're idling at about 850rpm. If that doesn't work, follow the DIY on IACV cleaning. That really did wonders for me so give that a try either way.

my engine is sputering when I accelerate and when idleing under 1300rpm. when it goes higher than 1400rpm when idleing the sputering stops

Check you cap and rotor inside the distributor that could be causing the sputtering and also did you do a full tune up?

You might want to check the compression as well... kits are about $40, or you could take it to a shop and have it checked professionally. You'll know for sure if you have a dead cylinder then.

a dead cylinder means you have a little more serious of a problem it could be a head gasket which wont be too bad fairly easy to change or bad valves or you could have bad piston rings which will be bit more difficult for someone new to this or worst case senerio a cracked block which means time for a new engine basicly there are 4 steps to an engine making power ... intake, compression, combustion(power), and exhaust now on a compression stage all the valves are closed and the pistons move up compressin the fuel and air that were sucked into the cylinder on the intake stage are pressed tight into the cylinder by the piston now on a good engine that fuel and air mixture is pressed to the engines compression ratio then spark is sent into the chamber via spark plugs to ignite the mixture giving you power now the tighter the compression the better the fuel and air will burn but if you have a leak or dead cylinder its not going to be burning as well as it should meaning you will lose power ... hope that helps you understand a little
