f22a4 header + down pipe install help

im doing this swaps soon..anyone done it yet...any tips on doing this..? what should i be aware of..??

the manifold can be a real pain to remove if its rusted. If you have a sawzall, just cut it right after the cast piece, makes removal much easier.

What do you plan to do with the swap? Its not gonna net you much hp...

i thought the A4 is goin to give extra 5 hp for A1..thats why im swapin.anywzy ...do i need to remove the center beam or engine plastic cover or any other parts.??

Header install requires the removal of the heat shield and o2 sensor. You might wanna invest in some wd-40 or pb blaster because the nuts are most likely stuck and rusted and you could easily round them or strip the threads so do it right and use the stuff. You also wanna get 3 gaskets. One goes between the block and the header, another between header and downpipe and yet another between downpipe and catalytic converter. These are crush gaskets that should be replaced when taken apart. Other than that, just reset your ECU after you install everything and retighten everything after a couple days.

the a4 has a real header, the a1 and a6 use cast manifolds.....the a4 header is a real 4-2-1 header and should flow almost as well as the dc header....

I think he was talkin aftermarket not an a4 header..
