ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Tannny and RPM ?'s

I've purchased a 93 Ex coupe with an auto tranny. I've been driving a Dodge Dakota. I've noticed that the shifts from gear to gear in the Accord are relatively hard shifts whereas in the Dodge the shifts are pretty seamless. Is this standard? Both are 4 spds.

Also, @ 60 mph I'm turning about 2800 rpm. This struck me as a little high, based off of the Dodge's 1700). The warmed up idle is about 850-900. Help educate me, new to the Honda scene.

    Thanks.

At 70 my 93 Wagon EX hits right at 3K RPM with the torque converter locked. That may be your problem. Are you driving for a while and it's still doing this?

Thats normal and yes hard shifts are normal for our year cars. Comparing the rpm from an accord to the ram is way different. You have gearing and all that to consider.

don't think you could compare a utility truck to a family sedan the gearing is different.

Maybe I should have clarified....the WAY it shifts is different. I know the gearing is different, but didnt realize that it would run so high.

ASLEEPZ: Yeah, I drive about 22 milies one way to work, with 18 of that being on a 4-lane. It stays at 2800 or so all the way there at 60 mph. If its natural, thats fine. If its not, I don't wanna be stuck fixing a tranny problem after the fact.

          Thanks
