ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Overdrive not working

I have a 93 LX and for some reason my overdrive (I think that’s the issue) won’t turn on or something and I can’t go into 4th gear. I’ll get to 40ish and then it just becomes like a neutral. Not sure what the issue is. Any tips or fixes?

I don’t know much about autos, but most issues that aren’t purely mechanical (like a torque converter) are usually TCU related. Swap out your transmission computer for another from the same year and model (92-93 LX or DX should be identical… EX and SE would probably work fine as well.)
Or if you’re handy with electronics, examine the board. Replace any damaged parts (I believe it’s often a bad resistor) and carefully check the solder joints.

You could also change your fluid, as it could very well be from 1993 if you haven’t done it. Use Honda ATF. The autos tend to be sensitive to fluid types, and non-Honda fluid frequently causes issues.

Does d4 flash at all? Or do you have a check engine light on?

Drain and replace transmission fluid with Honda fluid, clean the two transmission solenoids. Check out electrically if they are engaging also. The third thing is to adjust the throttle an shift cable lines. Good luck!

My d4 doesn’t really flash, but it stays on when I’m in park and when I drive it also stays on, like if I put it in d3, the d4 will stay lit. It feels really underpowered when it stays on but after a while it goes back to normal

Mine was damaged due to a rude driveway and I was unable to find the OEM part. The best I came up with was this: https://www.superdriveusa.com/. It was a loittle more than I wanted to spend, but the car looks much better overall.
