ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Do you have the correct spark plug gap?

you only switched two spark plugs? you might just need a tune up. if not, might be your whole distributor not just the cap and rotor. you might of fuccd your cylinder sensor that is in the distributor. try to replace that if tune up dont help. good luck

Is it idling rough and trying to stay alive? Could have messed up the firing order. You can also advance/retard timing a lil with the dizzy. And you might need new plugs if you feel the shaking or whatever. What type of plugs did you use. Only use the recommended NGK's.

easiest way to check for spark on each wire...

            get something metal...(screwdriver, etc..)
take one wire (part that connects to the spark plug) and put the metal object in the wire makin sure there is connection. then ground it to something metal on the car as well. try cranking the engine. if there is a spark somewhere on the metal then you have spark in that wire.

repeat process wit other wires. make sure you have all other wires in while doing one wire.

if you dont get spark then take the distibutor cap off and check the rotor for any burns on metal ends. if you see it burned try sanding down or just buy a new rotor. and also check points inside the dist. cap.

if you still get no spark try changing out the ignition coil. should be around 20 to 30 bucks.

to do that. just slide the rotor off. (not hard at all. it should be tightly fitted so jiggle loose) then unbolt 2 bolts on coil. becareful when takin wires off of ignition coil. match them up on other coil. bolt the ignition coil back on and put cap back on tightly so no moisture gets in.

NO NEED TO TAKE THE SPARK PLUG WIRES OFF OF DIST. CAP. DONT WANNA MIX UP THE ROUTING

IF YOU DO HAVE SPARK IN ALL WIRES AFTER TESTING...
then check the manuals for proper wiring routing.
check all spark plugs, make sure all are same and proper gapped.
if problem still persists check your sensors.

IF THEY DOES NOT HELP THEN SORRY. BUT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WIT MY 91 EX. MY IGNITION COIL WENT OUT SO I CHANGED IT MYSELF. PRETTY EASY IF YOU KNOW UR MECHANICS.

IF YOU TRY MY WAYS OR IF THEY SEEM HARDER THEN DONT TRY IT.
CHECK MY CARDOMAIN HERE!!! FROM WHEN I 1ST GOT HER TO NOW!!!

did you check what the code reads? there should be a blue plug in the passenger kick panel. Once you find that just get any speaker wire cut out about 1inch (just one either the + or -) and on each side strip the cover, then just put one end in one side of the plug and the other in the other. lets just say its use as a ghetto jumper if you dont have jumpers. then turn your key to the acc after you had jumped it. your check engine light should start to blink.

no.1 cylinder. change the whole distributor, all the wires, plugs, everything that has to do with the distributor. you need a new one.
