ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Speed Sensor

Last night my sports shift light came on along with my check engine light. I jumped the codes and both state the speed sensor is bad. Are the sensors the same for 90-93? Napa shows a different one for each year (91,92) and Autozone shows 3 different ones. The price difference is $50 or more. The ones from Napa are 129 and 179 ( I paid that much for the tcu) I can get one from Honda for a 115 (takes 3 days to get here) but I will pay Napa extra 20 to get it today.

I need the info on this too. My speed sensor crapped out on me last night.. CEL and no speedo. I wanted to know the same thing if they're all the same 90-93 and if there is a difference between 5 speed and auto.

Also, you can find them very cheap on ebay.. for less than $20 new.

the actual sensor itself is swappable between 90-97 accords and 92-01 ludes, but the gear assembly that the sensor is bolted to is different between automatic and manual...

if you buy the sensor from the dealer, i think youll get just the sensor... if you go to a junkyard, you could get the whole sensor/assembly/gear/etc for dirt cheap.

Thanks. The sensor is all I thought I needed to be replaced. Is the gear assembly something needed as well?

Ok I called Napa and they showed in the book that 90-91 are different than 92-97. I called the dealer and gave my vin and they only show one (78410-SY0-03) Which crosses over to Napa's number VSS626. Is this true has anyone with a 90-91 used one off a 92-97?
