ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Gauge Clusters

hey guys, my friend recently screwed up my needles in my gauge cluster for a 92 cb7 ex coupe. today i went to the junk yard to get a new cluster and the guy at there told me that because they dont have any coupes, the gauge clusters of a 4door wont work with my coupe. is this correct? i was under the impression that as long as the type was correct (ns or nt) and the year was between 90-93, it would still fit my car regardless of the amount of doors.

this is my first post on CB7tuner, but i frequent the site a lot. im sorry if this is a repost, but when i ran a search nothing came up with the answer to my question.

any input would be helpful. thanks

i dont think the coupe and sedan are different but i think the 90-91 are different from the 92-93

okay that makes sense. the only reason i need the new gauge cluster is because my friend, who drives an integra decided to take out my needles when he helped me install my indiglo gauges. The gauges work great, but afterwards he only had time to adjust the tach for me. the needle on the tach works great, but all my other gauge needles are messed up. He keeps tellling me to feel for a click and then it should work, but im still new to working with gauge needles, so i dont even know what the click feels like. and some performance shops in the area told me that just reinserting the needles actually shouldn't work to fix it unless im very lucky. i've gone through atleast 10 hours of messing with my speedo needle and its still laggy and messed up. anyone have any ideas for me to fix my guages?

i just checked and a coupe cluster plugs into a sedan harness, but of course the coupe cluster wont have the rear doors show up on the little "door open" diagram. the coupe cluster was a 92 EX, sedan was 93 EX, both automatic.

travis is right, if you get the right brand (NS or denso, listed at very bottom of speedo) and the right year (9091 or 9293) you should be ok.

its hard to say for sure because ive seen so many different clusters for CBs.

btw, pulling needles out of a CB gauge cluster kills the gauge.

yeah, i learned the after reading a few threads on this site. im just curious as to how he got the tach to work. either way, i forgot to mention that i have a manual trans, and what i was thinking of doing was just getting a new cluster and taking the needle, motor, and face plate and exchanging it with my current broken gauges, because i really dont want to have to get a new gauge cluster and have to see a different milage on my odo other than what it really is.

couldnt you just turn the mileage to what it should be when you put the new gauges in there?

i thought of that too, but after running a search on this site on how to do it, everyone started flamming the guy about asking how to do it because its illegal. as far as i know, the only way to change it is by breaking the odo and rolling it back or forward. i have 120k miles on my odo right now.

illegal or not, its easy to do. you can push each wheel to the left to unmesh it from the gearing and you can flip it around, and put it back.
