ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    need springs!

I am pouring all of my saved cash into the suspension because my CB7 needs to be dropped badly (it is like a 4''+ wheel gap!). I have mad bills, so I was looking for something less costly (read ahead). I'm not talking about cheap springs either. I want some nice springs, but I want to avoid having to buy new shocks and a camber kit, which is what I WILL have to do if I go 3.25F/3.0R. My stock shocks are working real well right now (no float/wobble at any speed). What would you guys recommend? I just have to ask tons of questions before I go out and spend my hard earned money on a car part. Lastly, is it true that I would need to have an extra 1/4'' drop in the front than the rear because of the higher fenders in the front?

I have $120 at the moment, but by this Friday I will have about $250+ in my suspension fund. Just to give you an idea about my budget so far.

    Thanks

lol another question. I have been looking on eBay, and I have seen an insane amount of springs/coilover parts for my CB7. Is it wise to purchase springs on eBay even if they are name brand like Tenzo R? I don't want to buy something that is cheap and end up hating it lol.

I just measured with a tape ruler to see exactly how high the wheel wells actually are. Now, I was on a slightly slanted driveway, so it was hard to get a perfect measurement. In order to really tighten up the gap on the stock 15s, I would have to go 3.25F/3.0R. Now, if I wanted to dump it lol, I would have to go 3.75F/3.25-3.5R.

I'll have to take a measurement on a totally flat surface to get a perfect reading. I'm also really worried about the control arms. Do the arms move down with the car? If so, I'll never be able to lower it 3''+ because they would hit the tires on all 4 wells.

just get coilovers and you can put it at any height you want. and yes the arms move with the height. ebay stuff sucks IMO. BTW my car is lowered 4.25 inches. later.

Is there a big difference in ride quality between sleeve coilovers than springs?
