ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    AutoTrans D4 Light not working

Ok, I saw a post about this but it was vague, in the symptoms-cause kinda thing. I didnt get a awnser i understood so dont get 2 mad if i just didnt understand the lingo.

Here goes. My D4 light on my dash cluster doesnt turn on ... all the rest do. It worked before, worked on and off for awhile, and now never comes on. I read that it was unlikely just a short, and that it was something like a Torque/TQ. I think thats what the troubleshooting guide on this website said about it. I didnt understand what that was or if thats what was broken or not working. If anyone either knows why is messed up or whatever let me know... I dont mind digging up the wiring in the center or pulling the cluster out. Im just looking for a solution or actualy what the problem is.

Thnx guys this is ,my 2nd new thread and was helped alot by my last one. Keep up the good work =]

        check the bulb

I would pull the cluster apart and check the bulb. Sounds like what you got is a burnt out bulb. Just my two cents worth...

Yeah had the same thing happen on my old 3rd gen but it always shifted into 4th. However if left this way and you actually have a problem you'll never obtain the codes from TCU, since I believe it only blinks the D4 light.

sounds burnt out, since thats usually how they go. they work, they flicker, then they blow.

the one in teh gauge cluster. you need to remove the dash trim, then pull the gauge cluster out. then you need to remove the bubble, and remove the gas/temp gauge. then you can swap out the D4 light, but the problem is its a non-standard OEM only bulb. make sure you can get a replacement first before pulling it all apart. might want to just swap the D4 and 1 bulbs, since you never use 1 anyway.

Drizzt you dont have a D4 light cause ur in a manual

                        D4 = Drive 4 or Overdrive
It doesn't matter. Use whatever technique you like.

                          Just curious

I was just wondering if you got the problem fixed? Was it the bulb or what?? Let me know. Just wondering for my own future reference so I would have an idea what to look at if it is something other then the bulb..
