ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Spring Install

Hey folks. I'm getting ready to order a set of lowering springs. I called the only real aftermarket shop in vicinity. They quoted me 3 hours of labor = $200 to install the springs. To me, that is a f'ing scam. Since I have no knowledge whatsoever on how to install the springs (blows hard), what other options would I have? If any of you live in the Atlanta (northern) area and would be willing to do this for me, I would make it worth your while. I have no other option. I WILL NOT throw down $200 for someone to scam me.

how bout you just diy? theres a full diy on this site, even with pics.

its not hard, just takes tiem to get all teh bolts off.

dont say you're gona fuck something up, cuz its damn hard to do that. the worst thing that I can imagine go wrong is that one of the bolt's heads broke off, but that happens to a lot of people.

Oh ok well i guess we don't need the suspension meet after all. What springs have you chosen? I can help you install no problem. It is really easy actually as long as your bolts aren't seized.

          Part # 1003

They aren't labeled race etc. I believe they are the sport springs. I don't want to go any lower so I can keep my stock shocks for the time being.

Regarding DIY. I lack most of the tools (specifically a spring compressor) to do the job myself.

            Try this:suspension install
Throwing down money for the mechanic isn't necessarily a ripoff, they help people that don't do their own work.

*You can rent spring compressors from an auto parts store and get a full refund if you return them.

            ...adjust accordingly

it is when they are charging 200bux. the most Id charge for this kind of work would be like 50bux and some food. and this is using hand tools. shops have air tools, which makes things go MUCH faster.

you only need a few sockets, ratchets and a few wrenches. you can use the stick you use to jack up the jack as a breaker bar, or just do some other custom breaker bar.

If you have no idea how to do it, how on Earth can you figure 2 bills is a scam?

How much are you planning to offer someone on the board to do it for you?

Yeah, but you're doing it for laughs, not to support yourself.

I am open to negotiations on a payment for the installation. I'm only looking at people who can seriously help me out. I am tired of wishing my car was lowered.

Guess we can have a spring-install meet lol. Actually if the springs are soft enough or short enough we might not even need a spring compressor.

Ask more shops around your area.In a shop you should not pay more than $100 bucks for the installation. You might want to buy new struts also or the car is going to feel like shit.
