ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    F22b1 sohc vtec HELP

Ok I found someone who has a f22b1 motor, sohc vtec accord engine obviously, and i can prob get it free or for really cheap, is it worth it, will it be way better than my f22a6 engine? Can I get alot more out of it than my engine? Like reach better 1/4 times etc. Or should i just save up hella money for h22, im kinda on a low budget though, but would i be pretty happy about the potential of this engine? Please I need some feedback, I need to decide, all the advice i can get will help!!!

its got 145hp so minor hp boost. STill takes boost pretty well like our f22aX. If you can get it dirt cheap i would get it and boost it. acclude91 has one if I remember and he ran some pretty good times with one.

So if i boost it or fix it up in anyway, will it have slightly more output than the f22a6 motor, I know there pretty similar except one has vtec and the other doesn't so would i get a little more out of it because it has vtec on it?

Sure? IT depends on the tune and on those motors you can barely feel VTEC kick in well I didnt on my buddies old 5gen. But it has potential I would do it.

NAiL05 is right, you can barely feel the VTEC on thoese motors, but it is good for boost, and with the money you gonna spend to boost it you proly could of had an H22.

If you have alot of miles and just want something new than yes, but if your looking for way more HP than your F22A6 than no. Besides if your getting it for free than why not do it.

Im just looking for 200-300 horsepower range with turbo or supercharger, would it work better for that range than an f22a6, that mostly what i want to know, and also is the swap difficult, i heard it was harder than the h22 swap online

Its actually not. Acclude91 did a complete write up on it somewhere one here. I think you just gotta swap two pins (wiring up vtec/oil press) and cut the driver side mount up a lil and the rest should be easy to do. Id get it. That motor will get you past the 200 mark for sure on boost just as the f22a will.

So the easyier way would be just to swap the head & ecu right? Just wire up the vtec/oil pressure engagement?

No the head is a bitch to swap. If you were gonna do it buy the motor. I wouldnt even bother with the head.

Ya I saw a forum on another site about the headswap, it can be done but from what I read it is not worth the trouble, lots of modification, just get the whole engine swapped would be much easier.
