ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Heater Switch Stuck!

My Heater Switch (in my 4th gen.) is stuck. The car is now blowing hot air...constantly
On my way home, my friend turns on the heat to full. After about 30 seconds, I say "this is retarded," and turn it back to the coolest setting...or so I thought. The switch had a bunch of play in it, and, when I got home, it ended up just popping right off, exposing the metal thing that the plastic knob is attached to.

I tried using plyers to --gently-- twist the now knob-less switch back to cool. When twisted counter-clockwise (i.e. cooler), it doesn't budge past a certain point. It seems happier to spin clockwise (i.e. hotter).

Bottom line: it's still just blowing hot air, and I can't adjust the knob with normal amounts of force. I'm royally fubared.

Someone please help! It's summer! I needs my cool car!!!

I had the same problem with my car. most likely the knob is broken. this is a very common problem on cb7s and CDs. you can find replacement knobs from Auto Zone (and other parts stores) for about $8 or so.

He said he pulled off the knob and tried turning the rod that holds it manually and still didnt turn to a certain point. So its not the knob. As mentioned you will have to pull out the whole unit to see what is wrong back there.

i understand. i had the same issue. I tried pliers as well. (not enough force or leverage? since there isnt enough space for a decent set of pliers). Since he will need new knobs anyways. he might as well get give it a try before ripping apart the dash?

Look down by the firewall in the engine bay on the left side. Look for a hose... and a little cable attached to it. The cable could have snapped which makes it not go on. Just move this peice with your finger and you will be fine...

            Hope it helps
