ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

A/C not cold & gasoline odor on 91 EX and other problems

I have several problems with my 91 EX.

    1. The A/C is not as cold as other car (odyssey). The plastic under the glove is always wet. When I choose the outside air circulation, a white smoke came out from the vent. Whenever I turned on the A/C, I can smell a very strong gasoline odor. I could not find the source of the gas odor. I wanted to check it to the local mechanic, but they charge around $40-up for inspecting A/C. I checked the hood of my car and it says that I am using r-12. The mechanic shops sell r-12 $75 per pound (is it expensive?) and they sell r-134 for $15 per pound. They also offer conversion from r-12 to r-134 for $180 (is it considered cheap or expensive?)

    2. As I mentioned before, the strong smell of gasoline odor whenever I turned on the A/C. Without the A/C on the odor is not noticable.

    3. The ride height is uneven, the passenger side is higher since I change the front lower ball joint. Some people suggest that I need to change the other side, too. Could that be the problem? (not changing both lower ball joint make the car height uneven)

    4. The central lock door will not work it is just making a clicking sound, but the lock will not go down and up. Do I just need to replace the power door lock module unit?

I am planning to buy Tokico HP blue shock to change my stock shocks, does anyone ever use this shocks with dropzone spring? I am looking for 2.5" / 2.25" drop. Is it a good combination?

    Help really appreciated. Thanks

if the plastic under the glovebox is always wet it sounds like your heater core may be bad and coolant is letting it get wet.

How to fix it? Is it going to be expensive to fix it?
      Thanks

First check the A/C drain tube. It could be plugged and all that condensed water is falling on your passenger floor.

Check for a gasoline leak, likely under the hood where the outside air pick up is sucking some in when you switch to outside air.

R-12 is expensive because the U.S. stopped all domestic production. You might want to convert to R-134. I don't know the range of cost in your area. Call several shops and find the prices.

A gas leak should probably be fixed, no matter what.
