I have a 91 coupe and I can not lock my trunk release or lower the back seat from inside the car. I do not have a valet key. Is this common?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Valet key? Did CB7's come with that option? My key is one that does everything. Is your key the one that came with the car or is it a copy? If it is the original then it is possible, IMO, that it may be wearing out and doesnt work in the trunk release or the rear seat release. Since the key is most commonly used in the ignition it is possible, IMO, that the ignition has changed along with the key. It might not hurt to run the car by a honda dealership and have them look at it. See what they say. Could be that the key is a remake and doesnt add up just right or something crazy like that. Just my two cents worth. Later

I was having the EXACT same problems, when I bought the car I got the original key, then I bought a new one from Honda, then I went to Canadian tire to get the key cut, while I was there I bought one of their keys too. It turned out that neither the original, or the new Honda key fit the rear seats or trunk, yet the Canadian tire key worked on everything, the Honda key was worn down and the new Honda key got the "bad cut" which made it the same as the old one but the Canadian tire got a clean cut and made it the perfect fit, try getting a no-name car key and have it cut and try that, it only costs $5 max.Originally posted by deevergoteI'd eat a baby for free.
