ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Alright, Almost Fixed my bad bad accident...what to do now?

Okay, I posted yesterday talkin about how I hit a curb. well now I found out that just my fender, radiator, and body is a little bent...we have everything needed to fix it. However, the frame where the radiator support goes is sitting a little to far in (because of the front end collision mainly on the bottom) and its slanted in a way that the whole radiator won't go in without the drivers side popping up a bit. What can I do to resolve this problem? How do I bend this metal back or do I have to go to a body shop. THanks for the input

Just hit it out with a hammer, The metal around the radiator is soft and will bend easily. Just remove the radiator and push it back out and then put back the radiator and check for fitment.

man it is hard...i tried to use a scissor jack to wedge in between that and the part where u jack up the car (black part) and it almost broke the jack because there was so much stress...to give u an idea the drivers side radiator support hole was like half an inch from the black part referred earlier. Does this help what I'm describing. Thanks
        Yeah, Preludes

Apply some heat to it so it will make it easier to bend. Id take a BFH soem head and try to get it as close to the shape it was.

It means "Big F-ing Hammer" the bigger the hammer, the easier it will be able to bend back in shape lol. Goodluck!

wouldn't a block of wood and a rubber mallet be better in this case? i mean you don't want to use a 30 pound sledge hammer because that's just plain over kill and you wouldn't have any room to swing.

how would u swing it to even get momentum when the radiator support is on the bottom...do u put it up on jack stands? how are u going to pop it out?

that's kinda why i suggested using the wooden block to absorb some of the impact from the mallet or if you only have a ball pein hammer. you've got the radiator out already so plenty of room for at least that.

i was just kidding on the sledge.

Lol I didnt meant get one of those 30lb sledges haha a decently big hammer will work...IMO a rubber mallet wont do much on frame damage but the wood in between is a decent idea dunno how it would work. If you just need to hit it in I would just try applying heat drill a holl put in a hook deal and use a slide hammer to bump it back into shape...Dunno how well that would work but its gonna take a while if its the frame.
