ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Installing Aftermarket Air intake

    I just bought myself a : 1992 Honda Accord 2.2i

And i am planning to install a aftermarket Air Intake ? I live in Norway which is pretty cold country. And which type do you guys recomend ?

-Short Ram Air Intake or Cold Air Intake ?

Which is the best type for me ..And please give me links ..

    Thanx

Never hurts to search. A Short Ram Intake (SRI) will gain your power and throttle response. The Cold Air Intake (CAI) will also gain power but will not increase throttle response since the air has farther to travel from the filter to the Throttle body.. Also if you run the risk of splashing through puddles the CAI may not be a wise choice as we all know water in the motor=BAD! Depends really on what you are looking for power wise. Both setups will gain power but in differnet RPM ranges. Also the CAI will require some cutting and modification of your engine bay (moving the battery). Hope this info helps.

I say SRI cuz its easier to install. And it gives you increased throttle response.

SRI is good for throttle respond like said above and it is much safer for flooded areas and heavy rain. Downside is it get hot air in to the engine. SRI is called more like the Hot Air Intake.

CAI gives more power because of cold air getting into the engine , thats why its called cold air intake. downside is once water is sucked up into the engine, the engine will go into hydrolock which obviously you dont want to happen. there is a bypass valve that is installed in the CAI to prevent hydrolock. one i know is AEM bypass valve.

you can get 2-piece intake that's easuly converted to SRI to CAI or vice versa.
