ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    odd vss problem...

hey ive been having some wierd problems with my vss lately and its really starting to bother me, so i was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem, and if so how did they fix it.

ok, so basically a couple months ago i noticed my vss starting to go, ok no problem, had all the symptoms cc not working, bouncing up and down, so i decided to get a new vss. i hadnt had time to install it, but within the last month things started to get a bit strange. nowadays, the boucning rarely happens, however whenever you foot even touches the brake pedal the speedo drops straight to zero, let go and it comes back up. the cel comes on after a while, spits out a code 17 for the vss, and the car drives like crap. also, when im on the highway the speedo says im doin 160, and im only really doin like 130.

i kno that it seems like a simple fix since the cel is throwing a 17, however i find it odd that it drops like that when my foot even touches the brake pedal. it seems to be something also wrong with the wiring somewhere, maybe a ground? my mechanic advised me that i should fix the wiring issue, cuz even if i replace the vss it might not full solve the problem and i may have to buy another vss in a little while...

so my question to u guys is, has anyone seen this? does anyone kno wut it is, or how to fix it? any help is appreciated and thanks for ur time

i had a similar problem to yours, what turned out to be is that the bolt that hold the vss to the tranny was broken, so when i accelerated hard and braked, i guess the vss would jump or something like that, so check that out first

yeah make sure everything is tight, when you tight that bolt, to no tighten too much, cause i broke mine, i turned it a little bit with the wrench and snap, i was like shit, so just hand tighten and then tighten very little with the ratchet, and make sure the wire on the connector are still in place
