ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Short Throw shifter

Well for my short throw i did the 'ghetto' way and put the clamps around the shifter up higher to shorten the throw, the throw is so short/up high that i cant put my console back on i like it but not really liking no cup holder/ and it looks kinda ugly. I was just wondering anyone got and other ideas to shorting my transmisions throw other then the 'ghetto' way, like maybe shorting the transmissions lever for the shifter, i looked at it today looks hard, i need to cut the shifter and move the handle down some also.

    Any sugestions?

o and just a sugestion i put a skateboard bearing in where the shifter bushing is, it seems a lil smoother

    skateboard bearing haha

damn that is way up there, what u can do is flip the shifter basket under the other metal piece and use longer screws to hold, it will make it lower but it will still be short

You should have just gotten the forbidden shortshifter . It doesnt have any console fittement issues whatsoever. And it comes with 3 different settings to adjust on it.Also as for the console part take the shifter cable assembly out completely then take the the actual shifter holder and place it under the part that it used to sit on.

But get a dremel and cut the part thats in the front of the shifter that sticks up on the plate and the back part. Thats behind the shifter thats on the plate, Then get a longer bolt to go onto the back because its gonna stretch a little far because of the distance and your all set.

As suggested earlier, basket drop (shift basket under the plate) and you can not use the rubber grommet things and mount the plate directly to the body of the car (using shorter bolts that are threaded all the way up). That will make it way more solid and slightly lower. Also, if you have any junkyards w/ 4G Preludes, grab the whole shift assy, it's alot better.

I can see you have a 90 judging by the shift cables!
