Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Rod Knock?

    so I think I have rod knock. I notice the knock most around 3-4K RPM's. So my question is, can i do rod bearings easily? What about main bearings? Do I have to pull the motor? The knock I'm hearing is faint but it's there so I'm kinda nervous. When I say faint I mean you really have to listen to hear it. If it was really bad would it be extremely loud or am I in danger of blowing this thing up quikly.
    I know nothing about Honda's

    have you checked your oil lately? maybe your hamsters are trying to get out?

    If you've never done any kind of mechanic work, seems like you haven't it might be somewhat difficult. ITs not so much hard as it is INVOLVED. With a helms manual you can do anything if you are good with your hands.

      rod bearings arent hard to replace. but like juan said, its more involved than it is difficult.

      Im not sure if it can be done without taking the block out, but im damn sure that it will be 1000000x easier. you need to get to the bottom of the block.

        Could'nt you get at the rod bearings by dropping the oil pan? I was thinking I could do this in an hour or 2. And I am pretty good with my hands.

            Will a normal parts store carry these or do I have to order?
