ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    have my turbo money!!!!!

ok I have been saving up my cash for a LONG LONG time to build a "decent"
    turbo setup...
PLEASE UNDERSTAND I AM NOT A RACER, OR TRYING TO GO 200 MPH.
I have read about every thread on here and accordtuner and hondatech about building a custom turbo setup, and every thread always leads to 100 people telling some pore idiot to spend more money than i spent on my car, or college, and if he does buy it because mommy and daddy’s got some cash Then the knob cant install and if by some miracle does get it installed will throw a rod through the hood of the cheap non fitting carbon fiber hood. :off topic:
ahhh yea I got way off topic but anyways I am just trying to prove a point, but I think I have already forgot it! oh yea I am on a budget and its a daily driver!!!!! Lol
So I have saved some money and bought another car “2k contour SVT” so I can tear my Honda apart. I have found several setups that I like and need some info if at all possible.

I found this setup from a eBay company
    RB20 Turbo Charger:
    • 3" Inlet Diameter
    • 3" V-Band Outlet
    • 1/8 NPT Oil Inlet
    • T3 Flange
    • .48 A/R Compressor
    • .60 A/R Turbine
    • .60 Trim
    • Internal Waste gate (8psi)
    • Wet Float Bearing
    Manifold:
    • T3/T4 Turbo Flange.
    • SUS321 stainless steel.
    • Fully TIG welded.
    • Direct bolt on, Comes with ALL Gaskets and Bolts.
    • Fits All Mitsubishi DSM 4G63 4G64 Engine. “ I can get the 1g manifold instead of 4g”

This kit has internal waste gate set at 8 psi which is cool for me, but I think there may be a day I would like a lil more boost and not have to change a diafram. But its cheap and for all I need it to do I think it might work??? Ad a FMIC, blue or black top dsm injectors, a chipped pt6 (correction P06) or a hack “safcII” pipeing and call it a day.

    Or I found this setup

    • 600 X 300 X 76mm INTERCOOLER
    • XS POWER TURBO MANIFOLD
    • STAGE III GARRETT WHEEL / GARRETT SHAFT T3/T4 .50 .63 TURBO
    • XS POWER 38MM WASTEGATE WITH INSTALL KIT
    • BLOW OFF VALVE "R.F.L" SILVER, BLUE or RED - your Choice!
    • SPRINGS for waste gate adjustment / Boost - 3.63, 5.83, 7.8 Psi levels
    • oil lines, Fittings, Barbs, etc ....

This kit seems more tunable, still need a hack and chipped pt6(correction P06) injectors piping ect. Ect. same as the other but cost lots more What’s worth 300 dollars more on this kit?????

Next question is my f22a1 is not stock by any means and how will it “handle” what I want to throw at it. It is a fresh balanced bottom end “to rev up a lil quicker” fresh ported and polished head was sent out and milled to the point where I cant take another 10 thousandth off of it.
    “bad choice”
but I wanted to make the combustion chambers smaller and increase the compression. But now I have to run premium gas or I get a hella ping, black beauty .05mm oversized valves, delta regrind cam 272 duration, a6 intake manifold swap.
That is my engine at the moment. I run 7500 rpm every day and it is STRONG for what it is. But with raised compression how much boost can it handle before shooting my head off block? Or melting my rings? I want it to be street able and fun to drive!

My head is starting to hurt with all this thinking!! I don’t know what to mix and match to have a good setup. I just need some advice from experienced turbo accord owners, but please keep in mind I am on a budget and I don’t take-er to the track.

Thanks, I hope this thread clears up a lot of misunderstanding for other people out there that I know are having the same problem/questions as me. If this thread goes well I will order parts, take pics, and do a diy for the budget minded tuners who want to turbo.

To be honest with you they're not telling you anything about the turbo in that first description. It doesn't tell you what turbine wheels is being used, even though i'm guessing they're using a Stg. 3 wheels since it's most common. They're also not giving you a clear cut answer on the turbine wheel either. There are ALOT of 60 Trims out there because that's a measurement between cross radius of the comressor wheel. So even a much smaller compressor wheel can be a "60 trim". However it's probably the old style 60 Wheel they're talking about which for your application and maded to a Stg. 3 wheel then stuffed into a .63 hot side really isn't going to work very well, and on top of that it's major over kill.

What i would suggest you getting is something much smaller. Something like a T-28 off of a Nissan that is flanged to fit a T-25 style flanged will work perfect. That turbo will yield you somewhere in the low to mid 300's as far as HP is concerned. There's no reason you should go with such a big turbo especially if all you're wanting is an extra 100hp or so.

As far as the manifolds and shit go, can't really tell you much there as i've never looked at manifold for an accord. Just avoid OBX and SS auto chrome and you should be fine.

1st gen DSM manifold with some redrilling will fit and its a T3 flange on there if I remember correctly. Chipped p06 as mentioned screw the afc. Do a compression test it will help you to determine your health of the engine. Are you still running stock pistons and such. You should read in the forced induction thread you will learn a lot more. Most of it depends on tune I knowa couple of people running 10psi daily on there stock f22a turbo setups.

if you're on a budget, piece your own kit together. it will take a while, but you will learn more and save more if you know how to shop.

dont expect to be spoon fed.

do some research on the products you plan to buy. a few you mentioned have a bad rep, and at the same time a good rep.

go to www.homemadeturbo.com and do tons of research.

i suggest you dont join or pay attention to any of the crap that is said on there because it seems you get offended easily.

if someone calls you a N***er, dont get offended, dont bitch to the mods or admin. they dont care. one rule, dont post *** porn, everything else goes. dont make a noobie thread like this asking to be spoon fed because you will get called a stupid N***er and told to post some porn.

seach on dsm setup on this site and on hmt. search is your friend.

          and before you go on rambling about why we post links and w/e you did when you pm'd me;
we post links because we are just tired of repeating ourselves pretty much everday answering the same questions.

we are doing you a favor by telling you to search. you will learn a lot more and most likely save more.

i know this because about a year ago, i was just a noob. i didnt even know how to do my own oil change and was asking questions out the ass. someone flamed me, and i quickly learned. from then on i searched EVERYTHING.

HAHA n00b!!! =P. But yea after you get out the beginner forum if you havent searched you will maybe get helped if not get flamed 99.8% of the time. DSM setups seem to be the popular cheap beginner turbo setup to learn off of.

ah yes...the golden rule. No *** pron. all else is fair game.

for someone who has "read every thread on here and accordtuner and hondatech", you sure managed to gather a bunch of random ideas and throw them together pretty well. you need to sit down and plan what you want. and try to stay away from those "ebay companies". if you find a good deal by a private seller, fine. but most of those power sellers are bad news when it comes to turbos. You might as well buy your parts from the local dollar store.

oh, and P.S....and i know this is the begginer forum, but

we dont really appreciate the patronizing rant you started your post with. you might think your "different" from the average noob....your not. we have seen and heard it all.

it doesnt matter if your a racer or not, or if you want to go 200mph or not, thats no excuse to cheap out on anything.

Another question too...PT6 rev limiter is at 7000 so how are you driving it at 7500 rpm.

Negative ghost rider a DSM outlet flange and a T3 outlet flange are completely different not even close. One is a square flange with a round 56MM opening (can be ported to 60MM) the other is a rectangular flange with a rectangular opening, no need to port a T3 it's already perfectly matched.

If a DSM manifold will indeed fit with little or no modifications then it would be a good choice. Then you could bolt up something like an EVO III 16G and make enough power to be happy.

Yep with some redrilling of the 1g dsm manifold it works. Used to be popular when people found out you could use it for the f22a setup. I think there are still some people in the forced induction section running them.

I know a few people who have had bad luck with those eBay Turbos. Piping, Manifolds, are alright, but an actual TURBO, I would stay away from on eBay.
