ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    "spongy" steering

I'm not sure if my CB7 has a "problem" specific to it, or if this is just a weakness of the stock CB7 in general...

Since I've owned the car (6 years now), it's never been very "crisp" in the steering department compared to other cars I've driven...
    ('84 Prelude, '88 MX-6, '89 Integra, '03 BMW 325i, '06 330i, my CB7)

Of all those cars, my '93 Accord LX feels by far the most "squishy" with the steering, comparatively like a riding in a boat. Driving down the interstate at 70, if I move the steering left/right/left/right, the reaction is "delayed" more than I notice with other cars.

I've got better than OEM struts, so that's not it, and tire pressure is good (although it feels very similar to a very underinflated front tire, just less drastic)

I've got an LX, so no rear stabilizer bar, would that help, and can I add it? Also would a stiffer front stabilizer bar help, and/or one of those stiffeners I've seen across the top of the engine?

Am I just expecting too much?

Well my steering on my old auto 90 ex was a bit spongy didnt bother me much. BMWs have heavier steering which is why they are more responsive. THe other cars are ok i guess havent driven them. Our cars have a lil speed deal so as you go faster car is easier to turn or something like that forgot what that thingwas called its in the high pressure line. All I have to say is prob expecting a bit too much mine was kinda responsive kinda hard to tell since Im not driving the car to mimic the exact situation but yea.

The power steering being hooked up will generally make the car handle a bit too quickly IMO at highway speeds.

But if you are looking for an upgrade to make the car feell a hell of a lot more responsive, the #1 modification would be a rear lower sway bar. I like the Progressive rear bar. It makes the car so much more responsive its not even funny.

Of course, lowering the car will help, and getting a front upper strut bar (above the engine).

don't take offence to this if you are already doing it (most tuners take this for granted) put GENUINE HONDA FLUIDS IN! Especially with the power steering fluid the car gets mondo spongy if you're using generic $hit. I know this for a fact as just bought my 2nd 'Cord (the lovely lady in the picture below) with all Speedy fluids in it. I never had anything but OEM Honda fluids in my last 'Cord and the steering was terrific. This one felt like a Hyundai. I changed the tires and did all the Balljoints, tie rods, control arms and etc and it was still mushy. Soon as I flushed out the pwr str fluid and replaced it with Honda fluid it was like my old car.

The only disadvantage is that you feel every last vibration in the wheel using OEM fluid. The wheel is THAT tight. Hope that helps

Replacing your suspension bushings would be a help as well. Chances are they've turned to crap by now!

sounds like you need a lower profile stiffer tire. if you are running a 65, 60 and sometimes a 55 tire the steering response will be delayed and the handling will suffer..
