ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A crazy idea

    Here's an interesting thought...

    Would the engine/powertrain from a Civic Hybrid fit into a CB-7 ?
I'd think it would only work if you replaced everything between the motor and the wheels.

Here's an even more whacked idea... somebody should make a CB7 into a hybrid keeping the stock powertrain. I don't see anywhere to attach the gear up front, but maybe something could be done with the rear wheels if you got creative with it. CB7 becomes AWD!

(Hybrids stick an electric motor/generator in the powertrain [and hooked into the braking control system] so that it's a generator when you hit the brakes [creating drag on the drive train which helps slow down the car and charges a battery], and it's a motor powered by the battery when you need a little acceleration power [and there's juice in the battery from braking earlier]... The motor/generator doesn't do much if cruising on the highway at constant speed - if open uncongested highway is the bulk of your miles a hybrid won't help. I guess the Prius runs completely on battery power at low speed stop and go until the juice runs out. Interesting.)

dreams dont cost that much, jeje
but, the money u'd have to sped is ridiculous, with the same amount, you could make ur cb7, into a 12sec monster,

plus is almost imposible because of regulations and all of that Cr@p

i foud out that the voltage is very high, and amperage is freking ridiculous,
also tha when TOYOTA or HONDA work on damage hybrids,
firefighters are the ones that disconect the power source, a mecanic died of a shock, because the car had crashed and made a short on the chargin system, electrocuting the whole car plus the firefighter,

not only its expensive, is damgerous, and if u think getting shock from a MSD ignition is bad IMAGINE 100k voltssssssss u know what i dont wanna think, bout it

You would be spending money out the ass..Weigh down your accord a lot, Have to install all these sensors to regenerated the battery its pointless literally.

Anythings possible, if you really want to do it and have the means and cash to back it up. Plus the mechanical/electrical experience, if it really has the potential to fry you, you better know what you are doing. People do all sorts of automotive things that are more farfetched then that.

Personally though I would opt to spend the mess of cash that it would probably cost on a new car. (Spending a generous amount on the cb7 of course, though its almost done)

and PR CB7 I think you could do better than 12 seconds

I've had that one on my brain for a while... maybe I can forget about it now.

If I want better gas mileage, I should probably just slow down : ) and save my pennies for a rear sway bar, R-12 recharge, new wiper assemblies, a little rust work, take out some key scratches, put a EX lip under the front bumper, door weatherstripping, a new coolant reservoir...

What about a Accord Hybrid engine?

Lol yeah, that would cost alot but I was wondering if anyone loved their car so much in the honda scene (maybe older model) and wanted to make it into a gas/electric hybrid. That would be awesome to see even a Honda Insight engine in say like a CRX.

I'm pretty sure alot of people would love Hybrid swaps in their cars because of the damn fuel expensives these days. Wouldn't it be sweet to have that accord V6 hybrid engine in a cb7 tho? save mpg + it's got the power!

Oh yeah... has anyone seen a souped up Civic hybrid with an exhaust on the freeway? Would putting on a rear muffler really effect this sort of car?

Somebody understood where I was going... I might do it if I had the cash, even if it's not the best bang for your buck mod out there... it would be a love thing. (or stubbornness)

I'm guessing a Civic hybrid engine has more power than my stock F22A, and the CB7's aren't a tremendously heavy car, so I think it would work.

Save your money. No need for a hybrid. I am convinced with the correct setup you should be able to consistently achieve ~40mpg hiway in a cb7.

                        lean tuning
                        timing adjustments
                        0w20 oil
                        5spd

Before you scof, give it a try with your own car. 30s is not that hard for a properly maintained cb7(stock). I don't think 40s is out of the question. With that setup, you can't do anything but drive slow. By leaning it you'll smoke your engine if you beat it.
