I am contemplating whether i should do an engine swap or boost my accord. There are so many Pros and cons about each. A swap would get me a newer faster engine... but incredibly expensive... and i dont have all the tools necessary ... But also i really want to boost my accord, and there come flaws in boosting a older engine. gonna have 2 spend extra money in engine clean up getting it running new. I need some advice... which would you do

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Swap or Boost.....

thats true, but the cost of a turbo+a rebuild....its cheeper to swap.IMO swap 780 bucks....the turbo kit is gonna be way more than that....then to rebuild the stock motor within a year.....i would never turbo a motor with more than 100000 miles on it unless i drove everyone of those miles myself. to the OP be sure do a compression check, and that will be the deciding factor anywayz....bad compression=no turbo for uOriginally posted by desol11it may blow later rather than sooner depending on how u drive and the shape u keep your motor in. but it is still cheaper to build your f22 after u blow it than to swap in a h22\23\f22bD-series.org

yo thanks alot guys, im definately swaping now, i realized boostin my daily driver is not gonna b worth it, and plus im going to be tempted to spool it up so thats potential tickets and blown motor, so swap would be smarter

every motor will blow, just like we are all going to die someday.Originally posted by toddnosif you boost a high mile motor it will blow..its just a question of when....
there is nothing wrong with boosting a high mileage motor. just like there is nothing wrong with getting your freak on when you hit the big 80. as long as you dont tell the world about it..

lol....yup what he said. You can boost a brand new motor and it might blow, but you know when you're 80 and getting your freak on, damn! Think of boost as Viagra!!Originally posted by Accord R33every motor will blow, just like we are all going to die someday.

personal experience. jdm f22b + 14b @ 10psi. running about a year and a half now, only problem was a wire got caught on the manifold and melted, and that took forever to find. Granted my motor is newer, r33 ran his f22a for well over a year on the 14b. I don't think it's a matter of how you drive, because I beat mine up pretty good. It's all about tuning. I have my timing set back pretty ridiculously, yet i floor it all the time and have never blown my motor. It's all about moderation and knowing the limits.
When you swap, your gonna say that it was well worth it. revs quicker, has a lot more pickup, and just more all round fun then the f22a. When you boost, you'll never go backShift_BOOST

BOOM!
