Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    › Leaking Trunk ‹

Hey guys. I'm sure the answer to my question is extremely easy and a possible YES to my own question.

My trunk is leaking. I searched on the forum and is not leaking from the taillights, rear windows, Power Antenna, believe it or not, the trunk it self is leaking. Is not rusted or dented, so is not like it has a hole where it could come in. I tested it out and if you open the trunk LID you will see a few holes at the very bottom of the trunk. I closed without actually locking it my trunk and poured water everywhere, to see if i can see where it leaked, and only one of those hole actually let the water go through and onto the outside. The rest looked like it was backed up and stayed on my trunk lid.

question: should i just use a can of compressed air and blow into the holes in hope of clearing whats there, or should i do something else?

I knew it wasn't leaking from the usual spots because you would see water formation on the top of the trunk lid.

note: i will post picture of what i am talking about when i get home [in 3hrs].

Any suggestion would be highly appriciated.

Do you have a spoiler? Could be leaking there too if it's lose or what not. I think I know what you're talking about....could be a bad seal letting the water in instead of keeping ti out. I know for a fact it's my spoiler, and probably other thigns too. I'm too scared to open my trunk and seeing all the water lol.

i do not have a spoiler [i wish i did], but i dont think is a seal. I really think is the holes that are clogged. I only notice one out of like 6 that would let the water flow out.

            ok here are the pictures

http://members.aol.com/animeverified/trunk/01-hole.JPG -> this is the hole where water DOES flow out of

http://members.aol.com/animeverified/trunk/02-hole.JPG -> these are the holes where water does NOT flow out of

http://members.aol.com/animeverified...k%20bottom.JPG -> this is where the water tends to accumilate

            http://members.aol.com/animeverified...nk%20ontop.JPG
            http://members.aol.com/animeverified...r%20window.JPG
            http://members.aol.com/animeverified...y%20hindge.JPG

The last 3 are misc pictures of the top of my trunk, and the seals.

so should i just blow those 3 or so holes with compressed air or will i be damaging soemthing inside?

blowing air in those holes won't damage anything.

I'm also on the hunt for my leaky trunk's source. I have fixed like 10 things and everytime i fix something, i think it's fine for a while then it comes back. I'm running out of ideas. It sucks too because i had subs back there and the box got all wet and soggy.

thats my main reason why i haven't added subs. Luckily i found my source when i added water to my windshield(rear) and saw where it was "stocking" up. I hope thats my only source, because by the backseat is dry, by the lights is dry, by the antenna is dry, so it was killing me to see where water was coming in.

I guess tomorrow i'll buy the compressed air and blow into it and see how it goes.

Of course, more suggestion is always welcomed.

in the DIY i think i saw a post about this. Check the seals around the back windsheild. I guess thats a common problem. I checked mine and sure enough thats where it was coming from.

I guess i'll do both. I'll blow air into my holes -- test. If problem is still there, then i'll go to my junk yard and have them reseal my trunk [dont want to fuck with those plastic screws and clips]

When my trunk was leaking it was the seals around the tail lights i would check those too.

i hosed down that area and no water came through. The water accumilates on picture 3 - which is the top of the trunk lid itself. So unless the water was working magic by going upwards, i don't see that as being my source.

I really hope is not the seal around the window, knowing me i'll break all those clips

i have the same problem as bishpuppy. it comes in and gets all over the inside of the trunk lid. and pools into the backseat. i know its not my backwindow cuz i can see it leaks in the trunk area.
