Cooling Fans Dont Work

Hello I have 92 accord ex a couple of days ago i noticed that after i shut of my car the fans dont come on but the car does not over heat operating tepms ar normal a little below half it leaking a little bit of coolant but only leaks when the car is cold when it warm up it stops any ideas i have checked fan connections and fuses but nothing any ideas would be help full thanx.

I would fix the fans and the leak ASAP. I had a 92 ex and I noticed that the fans stopped but it wasn't a big deal cause it didn't overheat. Then there was a little crack that formed, I assume since it did not cool fast enough when you stop driving, so it started to leak a little, again no big deal since I just filled it up with H2o once in a while. 6 months later it got so bad that I was putting water in like everyday. There have been previous posts on how to find the electrical problem so the fans could work and then patch the leak if you know where it is. Don't use the radiator leak stop that you put in the radiator though, use the putty stuff on the outside. Good luck

It's an auto today they came on for like maby like 8 seconds after i drove the car on the lowest gear possible the winter gear

They only come on if they need too. Its been colder. I know mine are rarely coming on since its so cold out.

ya mine do not come on unless the temp goes lttle above halfway or if i got the a/c on

well mine come on after every time i drive it. I dont drive crazy fast, and the weather here in AZ is about 60-65 in the day and 50-60 at night. They usually stay on for about 2-3 minutes im guessing. But i know they were replaced before by the previous owner about 70K ago like 6 yrs ago or something like that

Oh, my above post was talking about the engine whether its on or off.

Mine usually come on if its warmer out like that when I shut down the engine.

Thanks the fans are working now i got the the system presure tested the radiator leaked right away it has a slight crack about 2 inches long.

ive got a question...when i shut off my car (after driving) the fan takes a couple of mins. before it comes on. And when it does come on its on for a little bit and then it shuts off and comes back on a couple of times before it finally shuts off. its kind of an off on off on off kinda thing.
does anyone know whats the problem?

Mine do that too on occasion. Kinda annoying, but everything works fine.

Well, my fan has never came on once after I shut the car off, that I've noticed, since I bought my CB7. And I know there have been times where it should have (since my dad's CB9's fan would turn on after the very same trip/weather conditions).

Should I be frantically running around pulling my hair out trying to fix this?
Or is it not the end of the world?

Either way...I wanna fix it!.....How?

i have a 91 lx and the only time mine has ever come on is when we got like 4 feet of snow in a day, kinda thought that was a lil wierd.

its the censor right below the upper radiator hose thats bad and thats why the car does the fan surges. My car used to do that then i got a new censor and it stopped
