ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Terms for exhaust

    Hi,

This is prob a newb question but I was wondering what the name is for the pipe just after the resonator. Thats where my exhaust has recently dropped out and I think I need to replace both the resonator and the pipe in order to have a flange that will bolt the two together. The original dragged on the ground until there was little left of the flange. I actually had some crazy lady yelling at me to pull over because my car was on fire lol. It was just sparks though. Hmm maybe I was the crazy one for driving so long like that... Anyway, I was looking on ebay and I found the resonator but I couldnt find anything about the pipe. So Im just looking for the correct terminology to find what Im looking for. Yes I've put in "middle pipe" but that dosent seem to get me anywhere. Perhaps I should just rip one off a junkyard car?

Just drive it to an exhaust shop and tell them they will know what to do.

Yeah, junkyard exhaust usually it more of a pita than it is worth. A "decent" shop shouldnt charge too much for what you are describing, and you dont even have to get your hands dirty.

Hahaha, I took it to a meineke place and they quoted me $500. I could try another place but I live on Long Island and its pretty expensive for that reason. Im a student and thus on a very limited budget. Yeah its definatly gonna be a PITA but then again I've already done all the belts, water pump, fuel pump (twice because I forgot to replace the crush washers), main relay, and O2 sensor. So this would just be another day for me. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

$500 huh? Yeah that seems a bit excessive. Might wanna get a second or third opinion. I try to stay away from the chain stores....bad experiences for me. "mom and pop" shops seem to be a bit more on the level.

These cars have a flex pipe too though dont they (i just got my accord)? I know those can be kinda pricey on other cars. Hopefully I wont find out too soon. If you do have to go JY on the parts, bring lots of penetrating spray and a breaker bar(or just cut off what you need....cordless sawsall works good for this). Good luck and happy hunting!

So far I paid 90 for a flex pipe and cat, then paid another 90 for cat back pipes and a resonator....so there are cheap places out there just gotta look. So 180 basically for header back system.
