ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    front end wobble...sometimes

Hey all, well recently i've been getting some light to heavy vibration under acceleration..but only sometimes. It started last monday, it felt like a wheel was rubbing or something and I thought it might be all the snow built up in the wheel well, knocked all the snow out when I got home and the next day it was fine. Wednesday it okay then did it for awhile then was okay again. Then friday it was real bad like a wheel was wobbling, there was clunking, and it was making the car frickin rattle everytime it wobbled, clunked. Now it's ok again. Lug nuts are tight, axles look ok, boots aren't torn or anything. I might be crazy but I think it happens after right turns...but like I said only sometimes. Coasting in nuetral or in gear or braking is fine only while accelerating. Someone told me maybe a motor or tranny mount but has never heard of it happening only once in awhile, and I don't know how to check if the mounts are ok or not. Sorry so long, and thanks for any input or suggestions!! Oh yea 92 lx coupe 5sp

      Yap Axel

Same thing happened to me too. I thought it was a tire but no.
Just installed two new axel's and the shaking all gone now, funny thou my old axle's boot's were still good,i guess at 400,000 kms something gets worn out

You spelled "axle" 3 different ways in that reply!

I've been having a problem related to my spark plug. I thought it was an axle for a few weeks, and then I realized it was my #3 plug. It had been pushed upwards and was a good 1/8" or more out of place. The threads were damaged, and it still won't sit right. It was causing a major misfire and a terrible knocking sound. It was so violent when the motor was under load (accelerating between 2500 and 4500 was the most noticable) that I could feel it through the entire car.

Hopefully it's an axle... My situation isn't common, but it is a possibility.

You might also want to check the wheel bearing / hub assy.
Jack the front of the car up (be safe --chock the rear wheels, use jack stands). Then put hand on tire at 12:00 and 6:00 position then push and pull the tire / wheel. you should not get any looseness if you do time to replace the hubs. If you go that far you might consider going ahead and replacing the rotors if they are worn. It will save you money and headaches.
