ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    window trouble

ok so i guess my gf and i were messing around in my car and i think somehow my front passenger side window got messed up. i dunno if it was loose change that got stuck in there or if the window just got out of allignment because as of right now i managed to manually push it up with my hands. i've got power windows and the motor is making sounds but the window isn't moving. about half of my window is out of the rubber molding right now and this sucks because its cold as heck outside. what should i do to get the window back on allignment? i have my haynes here with me so i suppose i just need to take off the inner plastic mold and the handle. i dunno what to do from there or if there're steps i'm missing. i wouldn't imagine this would be too hard to do myself so i'm not even going to mess with mr. auto glass man.

Haha, use the backseats man, not the front seats with your gf!!

If you can take off the door panel, you'll notice the window has come off it's guide and/or off the window regulator.

Search here and you'll find a DIY on door panel removal and once you remove the plastic sheet that covers the inner door, you'll find out(see) exactly what is wrong with your window.

        A pro?
        Why did the glass break?

...i just did a regulator replacement on my drivers side.
Is the glass off the guide(s)?

if you can bring it down to bottom(the glass that is), you'll see through a small round peep hole if the glass is attached to the regulator, check and see if the bolt(10mm) is undone(hopefully it didnt shatter down by there). Undo one and you can realign it yourself.

It's easy, you may need two people, one to hold the glass later...

good luck & remember, back seat.

i dont think the glass broke my POS car does same thing there is stupid plastic clip. and it breaks then once you put your window up about half way it keeps going straight up and does go on track but if you push it down it will lock.. i know what you are talking about and i have no idea how to fix it. seems very difficult. to me it would problably be best to just take your entire door off and buy a new one..

actually i went through a drive thru yesterday and when i tryed to put my window up it only went up half way. so i had to drive all the way home. i finally got it up by pushing my window button and pushing up on the glass. this is like the same thing that happened to my passenger window like 2 days before so im thinking obviously my windows aren't working properly. could this have something to do with my battery? i got the car 2 years ago but the records show my current battery was installed in september 2001. could that be the cause or could it just be because its so dang cold outside its forcing something not to work properly.

mine did that because of magnetic dust in the motors so I clean them out (aka taking the cover off and banging it on the ground) be careful if you do this because I spent half an hour trying to get the spring and bearing to match up in the motor again.

                        long story short

ok long story short i havent had time to do this window until now. full time job, full time student, full time dad, times hard to come by. but now as i was going out there to tackle this thing i had the realization. i cant think of a way to remove the glass with out the window going all the down. it stops like 1/5 the way down. any tips?

yea its got to be your regulator, i changed my passenger and it was pretty easy. a few screws here and there and it comes right out, just make sure to tape the glass real good with masking tape onto the door so when you pull out the regulator the glass wont drop.

are there other access holes than the bottom of the door for the window connection screws on the regulator track? mine only goes down 1/5 of the way ............

Sometimes the windows get caught (almost like it sticks, and doesn't slide) on the side seals which basically throws them off track.

My driver window does that in the front and all i have to do is lift the front of the window up a little and it rolls up fine
