ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    different Stock muffler...

right now im running megan header-->carsound 2.25 cat--->OBX muffler all on 2.25 piping. i've been doing alot more highway driving and starting to get tired of the noise. i dont wanna go and cut the pipe to add in a resignator that might or might not help the problem.

I was looking at new mufflers but they all seem to be performance (hence loud) and i want something low key but better then stock. It must look good too, i dont want something looking like a single POS pipe coming out the back of my car. My OBX one is really nice, ill get pic later.

I was thinking of going to the junkyard and look for a nice one off a V6 car or something like that. maybe if i find one off a benz or bmw. lemme know if anyone has ever done this before or what you think of my idea. basically i wanna replace just the muffler.

you can use the RSX muffler...they work...just weld it on to your piping...if its stainless steel.

          pros:

          -good flow
          -good sound
          -stainless steel
          -Its a Honda!

the V6 mufflers will work well if its from a single muffler car...the accord and TL are twin mufflers so each muffler I wouldn't believe would breath that well...I think the Honda Pilot comes with a single output exhaust

the twin loop mufflers are nice but there are a couple different styles, you gotta get the right one, my friend got a rip off one of ebay (he said its OBX style..?)and its louder than death... meanwhile, my other friend actually has a mugen one (or mugen ripoff) and that one is rather quiet at low RPMs and it is a smaller tip too..

I just used the stock EX-R muffler from a 5th gen...it makes a little noise but its very quiet when you want it to be.

thats probaly your main problem. you dont have a resonator. that helps quiet down the exhaust note. ive heard plenty of shops ive gone to for custom exhaust say that you need to get that resonator. if you dont then youll be sounding like the other raspy sounding civics running around. and them things are loud...
