Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    ignitor problem

    at first my car wouldnt start so my dad who had the car ebfore me put a new ignitor in and it fixed the problem and then a couple weeks later my tach started bouncing all over the place so i put another new ignitor in and it fixed that problem but now my tach is starting to do the same thing again...anyone know why it keeps doing this

    Could be a long shot, but did you replace the rubber gasket that seals the distributor cap?

    Could also be a bad tach signal coming from the ECU?

      When you replaced your ignitor was the inside of your distributoir coated in oil?

        the inside wasnt coated in oil but when i pulled the distributor off the head oil came out of the hole where the distributor goes

          no i havent replaced the rubber gasket for the cap

            Ahh ok. Yea the oil comin out is normal when you pull out the distributor. Is everything hooked on the ignitor tight and such?

                    i just had this happen to me today. I was going down the road taking my car for a test drive(just replaced a water pump, cap rotor, wires and spark plugs) going down the road rpm started jumping around and then it just quit. Will not start again. How much do one of these things cost?

                      the ignitor is around $75 i think

                        Maybe you should test the igniter unit....let me know if you need the procedure.

                            when i get it home i am going to take a spark plug out to see if it getting spark then go from there. thanks for the price.

                              see i had a similar problem i just got my car like 2 weeks ago...when i pulled the cap off it was dripping with oil i replaced it and the car is running fine i'm guessin it was just the the seal inside but you did say yours didn't have oil in it right ??
