ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

cant get my car into 3rd...

Alright so i have a 1991 Honda Accord and when i try to shift into 3rd from 2nd at 3500 or above it doesnt go into gear right away like i have the hold it there or let off and try it again and it sometimes does the same thing in 5th. Also i cant get it into 1st sometime going from Reverse to 1st and its hard going in from 2nd to 1st when stopping. It shifts fine going from 3rd to 4th....from 4th going back into 3rd....and 1st going to 2nd. What could the problem be. Any help would be awesome,
    Thanks,
    josh

I think the difficulty going from 2nd to 1st while stopping may normal. Me and at least a few others have mentioned/complained about it.

Also, going into reverse from a stop often requires shifting into 1st first.

For the other, I'd start with changing the tranny fluid.

Well, for the 2nd to 1st gear downshift, coming to a stop, Honda has put a block on it that won't let you down shift to 1st if your going over 10mph. Under that it should work.
As for the others I don't know. As a matter of fact, my car has trouble shifting from 1st to second sometimes, especially if I push it, and my 4th to 5th if I push it real hard every once and a while won't let me put it in either. Exactly the way you described it, it'll go in it just takes a second try a lot.

Look in your engine and check for anything binding in the way first before directly jumping to synchros. Might be an easy fix like that.

well if your syncros are bad replace them which cost money or learn to double clutch, I sometimes have to do this putting the car in reverse.

Oh, mine was difficult to get into third (sometimes grinding, especially the harder you pushed it). Just experimenting with the tranny fluid help it a whole lot (half old Honda MTF, half Royal Purple Synchromax has worked best so far).
Just check things out as people have said, then go from there.
