ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Hood Clearance

I just got done swapping my stock f22a with a jdm h22a, but I'm having a problem. My valve cover to hood clearance is so minute that if I get on it, the valve cover is hitting my hood when it flexes. I'm wondering if anybody else has this problem and what solution is there to remedy this problem, other than cutting the structural support of the hood where it hits the valve cover. Any help or info is greatly apprecieated. Thank you.

Check your motor mounts. Mine is minute but its not bad. The only thing that fucked my hood was using the Accord PS pump.

ya.. either it rubs the hood on the valve cover or you put the oil pan so low that it drags. I had this problem on my swap but we made our own mounts and decided to make it like 1mm off the hood then take away from the hood supports alitle. Better than risking puting it lower and draggin the oil pan and bell housing. So, ya, you're gonna need to take alitle off the hood.

Why would you need to take a lil out of the hood? I ddidnt do that with mine...Anyway did you do the auto-manual swap by any chance? Also is your hood sitting flosh with the fenders? Because if it isnt it can cause a bit of a clearance issue. I can push my hood down about an inch and i will hit the vc on my motor. I dont see what damage it could do to it because 1. the hood is flimsy 2. you can prop the rear of the hood up a lil and it will give you enough clearance.

Its something to hold down the torquing of the motor so your motor mounts last slightly longer lol ha. Personally it doesnt bother me at all.

that is the exact spot where my valve cover is rubbing with the hood.

nail05-the motor mounts are brand new, also what do you mean by the auto to manual swap? tensioner or tranny?

Trans. Hmm mine doesnt look like its rubbing when i lift my hood. The only visible area I see rubbing was when I had my ps other than that nothing.

it has to do with the angle of the motor if you look at the h22 in our cars as well as preludes they lean slightly to the back so the front is always going to be an issue but it really wont hurt it but im sure you could solve the problem with solid mounts or notching the hood.
